About us

Birest carries the experience of four generations of the Benini family working in interior finishing. It all began in Pescantina, near Verona, in the years following the First World War, a craft passed down with care from father to son.

In recent years, with Alessandro, that same hands-on work has grown to reach nearby Italian cities, while staying true to the same principle: careful listening, technical precision and materials chosen with attention, without compromising on quality.

The family is also active in interior design: for anyone who'd like extra support choosing colours, materials and solutions, a consultation with an architect and designer is available.

Every job starts with a site visit, continues with a clear written quote, and ends only when the finish truly reflects the space you had in mind.

Pantone 11-4201 #F0EEE9
Colour of the year 2026

Cloud Dancer

Pantone 11-4201 · a soft white

For 2026 Pantone chose a white. They describe it as a balanced, billowy white tied to the idea of calm, of pause and of starting over: a colour that doesn't ask for attention, but leaves it to the space and the light passing through it.

From where we stand it's an interesting choice, because white is the colour we're asked for most often and also the one that goes wrong most easily. There are dozens of whites and they are not interchangeable: Cloud Dancer carries a barely perceptible warm note, which makes it a better fit than a pure white in north-facing rooms, where cold light tends to push walls towards grey.

One thing to know before choosing it. White is the least forgiving colour there is: it hides nothing. Every ripple, lap mark or uneven filling shows up under raking light. With a shade like this the result depends on how the wall is prepared far more than on the tin.

If you're considering a white for your home, we bring the colour fan to the site visit and prepare a sample patch on the wall: it's the only way to see how it behaves in your own light. In the meantime you can browse the full RAL chart or our guide on choosing colours according to light.
